Throughout the year, our students have enjoyed a wide range of educational trips and enrichment activities that enhance classroom learning and provide valuable real-world experiences.
Some examples of this year’s trip are; Geography students explored the spectacular geological formations at Marble Arch, learned about environmental conservation and waterway protection through the Water Warriors programme, and carried out fieldwork investigations of sand dune ecosystems at Magilligan. English students enjoyed the opportunity to experience live theatre, with our annual Year 8 theatre trip providing an engaging and memorable introduction to performance and literature beyond the classroom.
History students participated in a variety of enriching experiences, including a visit to Stormont Buildings, attendance at academic conferences and university-led lectures, and the opportunity to hear powerful Holocaust testimony. Year 10 pupils also took part in a hands-on historical workshop, handling artefacts from the First and Second World Wars to deepen their understanding of the past.
These educational visits help to bring learning to life, broaden students’ horizons, and inspire curiosity, while creating memorable experiences that support both academic and personal development.
London 2025
The English Department’s London Trip offers students in Years 12–14 an exciting opportunity to explore the wide range of careers available within the arts. The visit includes engaging workshops at Sky Studios, visits to The Guardian newspaper offices, and experiences at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, alongside West End theatre performances and much more.
Barcelona 2025
Forty enthusiastic boys recently enjoyed an unforgettable Spanish trip to Barcelona, packed with culture, excitement, and plenty of fun. The group embraced everything the vibrant city had to offer, from its stunning architecture and lively streets to its rich history and delicious cuisine. A real highlight of the trip was their visit to PortAventura World, where the students threw themselves into the thrilling rollercoasters and attractions, making the most of every moment and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The boys also spent time in the beautiful coastal town of Salou, where they were able to relax by the beach, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy some well-earned downtime together. The combination of adventure and relaxation made for a perfect balance throughout the trip. It was a fantastic opportunity not only to experience Spanish culture first-hand but also to build friendships, gain independence, and represent the school with pride. Overall, it was a hugely successful trip filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable experiences.
Italy 2026
A group of 42 pupils, made up of both Year 10 and Year 13 students, recently took part in an exciting week-long ski trip to Northern Italy. Staying at the picturesque Montclassico Ski Resort, the pupils were immersed in a truly memorable experience set against the stunning backdrop of the Italian Alps.
Throughout the week, students of all abilities had the opportunity to develop their skiing skills under the guidance of experienced instructors, with many trying the sport for the very first time. Each day was filled with progress, challenge, and plenty of enjoyment on the slopes, as confidence and technique improved steadily.
Beyond the skiing, the trip offered invaluable opportunities for pupils across year groups to mix, build friendships, and support one another. The resort provided a welcoming and scenic environment, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of a winter sports holiday.
