Wellbeing Centre
To support pupils more effectively, the school provides a dedicated Wellbeing Centre, led by the Vice Principal with responsibility for Pastoral Care. The Centre plays an important role in our pastoral care system, ensuring that pupils feel supported not only in their learning but also in their overall wellbeing. Staff are available to listen, offer guidance and provide appropriate support or signposting to further help where necessary.
The Wellbeing Centre includes:
- A Mentoring Room which provides a calm, supportive and welcoming environment for pupils during the school day. Equipped with comfortable seating, refreshments, television facilities and games consoles, it offers pupils a safe space when they may feel unwell, upset or in need of time out.
- At lunchtime, the room also provides a quiet and supervised space where pupils can relax and eat lunch in a positive environment.

As our SENCO, Mr McCloskey works closely with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to coordinate support for pupils with additional learning needs, ensuring they are fully supported to achieve their potential and thrive in school.
Learning Mentors
Learning Mentors Louise and Anne work closely with pupils identified through the pastoral system as needing additional support. They help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and improve self-esteem. The Learning Mentors work in partnership with teachers, parents and external agencies, providing an important link between home and school.
Learning Support Assistants
Our Learning Support Assistants play a vital role in supporting high-quality learning and teaching across the school. They work alongside teachers to help pupils access the curriculum, reinforce learning and provide additional support where needed. By offering both in-class assistance and targeted support, Learning Support Assistants help ensure that all pupils are engaged, included and able to achieve their full potential.
